Evening is the best time to chew gum, because chewing gum can stimulate the production of saliva, which can neutralize excess stomach acid.
Some studies have suggested that lying on your left side while sleeping can aid digestion and prevent acid reflux.
Don’t take medications that tend to aggravate your acid reflux before going to sleep such as aspirin, or other painkillers, or calcium-channel blockers. Ask you doctor to tell you about alternatives for these medications that you can safely use at bedtime.

Also, if you do go long periods between meals you are more likely to eat fast or gorge yourself on foods that are readily available which are more likely going to be those which bring on the acid like those high in fat.
